At High Altitude Honey LLC, we are an off-the-grid small family business whose honey comes from 8500ft. elevation in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains. Because our hives are kept over 20 miles from the nearest town, and in the middle of a national forest, we can say our honey is as pure as you can get! In remote locations like ours, there are no agrochemicals or pesticides used within the flying range of our bees. Also, because our bees reside in thick conifer forest, our honey is rich in the anti-septic and antibacterial resins the bees collect from the sap of conifers.
After 20-plus years of raising honeybees the honey bees at Colorado Mountain Honey have taught us how to take advantage of our amazingly diverse micro climates and our wildly short high country seasons. When you purchase our honey, you are not only getting some of the most respected, unique honeys in the world, you are also helping ensure the health of 35 million honey bees annually in our valleys and mountains. From the high country of Aspen to the alpine desert of Debeque (and many locations in between), taste the wonderful varieties of Western Colorado; taste Colorado Mountain Honey.
Honeyville is a third-generation beekeeping family in the Rocky Mountains in beautiful Durango, Colorado.
In the 1920s, Vernon Culhane began beekeeping after removing honey bees from a tree near his home. The exceptional honey his bees produced quickly earned him the title "The Falfa Honey Man" in Durango, Colorado. Locals filled their containers straight from his truck or visited the Honey House on the Florida Mesa.
Vernon Culhane's beekeeping hobby in Durango, Colorado, blossomed into Honeyville, a thriving honey business. Known for exceptional quality, Honeyville grew from locals filling jars at the Honey House to producing beloved creations like Cinnamon Whipped Honey and Wild Chokecherry Jelly. Today, Honeyville continues Vernon's legacy, offering nature's finest through the factory store, online, and the Honey House Distillery. Partnering with family beekeepers across the Rocky Mountains, Honeyville ensures rigorous quality standards and innovates new honey-enhanced products to delight generations of loyal fans.
